External coating of FRESCO radiators:

Surface Treatment:

  • HDG process is standardized and mastered, to eliminate any possibility of distortion even in 1mm thick radiators and HDG coated radiators can be also painted as per ISO_12944 and SSPC standards, for enhanced corrosion protection.
  • Radiators are grit blasted after pressure leak testing under water. Grit blasting ensures that the entire surface area is cleaned and no contamination, oil traces or rust is left on the radiator surface. The grit blasting process also gives the necessary profile which facilitates paint adhesion on metal. The radiators are grit blasted to Sa 2 1/2 as per ISO 8501 or SSPC-SP-10.
  • Radiators externally coated with epoxy base primers, intermediate MIO primers and paints with final paint shade as per customer specifications.
  • Radiators externally coated with zinc rich base primers + epoxy intermediate MIO primers + polyurethane – PU top coat paints with final paint shade as per customer specifications.
  • Only hot dip galvanized (HDG) radiators without any of the above mentioned paint systems.
  • Hot dip galvanized (HDG) and hot spray galvanized (HSG) radiators, are subsequently coated with any of the above mentioned paint systems.
  • FRESCO offers various paint systems in accordance to ISO 12944-2:2018 – Global Corrosion Standards.

Surface Treatment:

  • The radiators are first thoroughly cleaned with wire brush followed by dry air purging to ensure dust free internal surface.
  • Subsequently an electromagnet is also inserted in header pipes to ensure zero metallic contamination inside the header pipes.

Internal coating of FRESCO radiators

  • FRESCO can offer radiators with two options of internal coating of radiators.
  • Radiators are thereafter internally flushed with solvents.
  • Radiators are internally coated with alkyd phenolic based hot oil resistant varnish ELMOLUFT 1A FD of ELANTAS – Dr. Beck’s make with a temperature resistant index of 120-C or internally coated with single pack primers ? Interprime-741 of AKZONOBEL INTERNATIONAL make with a temperature resistant index of 200-C.

Quality assurance and testing of FRESCO radiators.

  • FRESCO has a well-established quality system accredited by ISO 9001:2015 – QMS standard.
  • FRESCO has a stringent incoming material and in-process quality plan and with the help of quality tools the rejection and rework levels are continuously checked and controlled.
  • FRESCO quality plan for manufacturing radiators incorporates the routine and type tests to be carried out on the radiators.

Routine inspections carried on FRESCO radiators:

  • All radiators after assembly undergo a full dimensional check.
  • Flange alignment test.
  • All radiators are pressure tested at 2kg/cm 2 ?(1mm thk.) or 2.5kg/cm2 (1.2mm thk.) individually under water for a period of 30 minutes minimum.
  • After painting the paint thickness is measured on all radiators using SPC technique to guarantee minimum thickness all over the radiator.
  • Paint peel-off test as per ASTM 33 59 83 is performed on randomly selected radiators.
  • Packing inspection to ensure safe delivery of the radiators up to the customer end.

Type tests carried on FRESCO radiators:

  • Radiators are type tested for leakage against hot transformer oil at 105?C at 1kg./cm 2 -for a period of 12 hours.
  • The radiators are type tested to withstand vacuum of 5mm Hg. absolute for one hour and permanent deflection measured at the centre should not exceed 0.5mm.
  • Identification and material traceability of FRESCO radiators:
  • Each radiator manufactured by FRESCO has a unique number punched on the radiator and this number helps in maintaining the quality records of each job manufactured.
  • This unique number helps us in deriving the entire history of each radiator i.e. workmen names who have worked on the subject radiator or the different inspections which were carried out with relevant inspector names, the time intervals between two coats of primer/paint along with total raw material traceability.

Packaging of FRESCO radiators:

  • FRESCO supplies radiators packed on road-worthy and sea-worthy wooden pallets, crates or cases, made of natural rubber/jungle wood or pine wood.
  • FRESCO manufactures all the wooden pallets, crates and cases in-house and pays special attention to radiator packaging and the accessories used for packing.
  • All domestic vehicles and export containers are loaded and sealed in the factory itself, to be only opened at the customer end.
